The Nielsen

Three heritage buildings with over 100 years of history. We were invited to deliver the refurbishment of The Nielsen in Vaucluse, Sydney Harbour National Park – working across Nielsen Park Kiosk, Halbert Pavilion, and Shark Beach Kiosk without compromising what made them worth protecting in the first place. The biggest hurdle was navigating the building’s heritage restrictions. We partnered with skilled trade contractors experienced in retrofitting concrete slabs within existing structures, where precision is everything to avoid structural impact and ensure the heritage fabric of the building remains unaffected. This also involved integrating new service reticulation to support upgraded amenities. These works were about respecting what came before and ensuring it endures today.
